Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking an Environmental Specialist to oversee field environmental management on power infrastructure projects across North America. This role reports to Senior Environmental staff and works daily with Operations and Project Management at sites like Stapleton, NE.

You will develop and implement plans, monitor compliance with regulations, and train crews on environmental practices, ensuring safe and compliant project execution.

Qualifications

• University degree or diploma in environmental, agricultural or biological sciences.
• 2+ years in construction or environmental field.
• Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations and permits.
• Valid driver's license with a five-year abstract.
• Willingness to travel to field sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental support to on-site construction and project teams.
• Develop and implement project environmental plans complying with client requirements and regulations.
• Evaluate compliance with client standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain Construction Environmental Management Plans, Heritage and Habitat protection plans, SWPPP, and related plans.
• Monitor and report potential environmental issues with recommended corrective actions.
• Document daily on-site environmental inspections with photographic logs.
• Train employees and contractors on environmental awareness and controls.
• Collaborate with construction crews and client environmental representatives.
