Job summary

Stantec in Buffalo, NY seeks an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Services team. You will perform wetlands delineations, field surveys, and environmental permitting tasks while supporting data reporting and regulatory compliance.

Successful candidates will have 1–5 years of field experience and a BS or MS in an environmental discipline, with strong communication and leadership skills. Regular field travel is required and a safety‑minded, collaborative attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in an environmental discipline with knowledge of soils, vegetation, ecology and hydrology.
• 1–5 years of environmental and/or field experience.
• Experience delineating wetlands per Corps of Engineers manuals is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform wetland delineations and field surveys, and conduct environmental permitting and monitoring.
• Conduct environmental inspections to verify compliance with permits.
• Prepare NYSDEC/USACE Joint Permit Applications and SEQR documents; summarize and present data.
• Travel regularly throughout NY, Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and manage field tasks, data collection, reporting and communications.
