Job summary

ERM in the United States is seeking Environmental Inspectors to oversee construction-phase environmental compliance for a transmission and distribution project in northern Nevada and southern Idaho. This full-time, limited-term role runs 18 months beginning March 2026, with potential extension.

The position demands 40–70+ hours weekly, extensive travel, and rigorous attention to safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree preferred, with 3 years of environmental inspection or monitoring experience, or 6 years of related construction work.
• 2+ years of environmental inspection or permitting experience on energy infrastructure projects in the western US preferred.
• Experience with electric transmission projects is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct environmental training for construction personnel.
• Perform field inspections and environmental monitoring of construction activities.
• Mark and verify work areas, routes, and access points.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, landowners, contractors, and clients.
• Review project documents and advise on compliance issues.
• Lead field staff and run daily meetings.
• Assess environmental conditions and determine mitigation needs.
• Conduct environmental sampling and document findings.
• Ensure proper implementation of mitigation measures.
• Travel extensively and work 40–70+ hours per week.
