Florida Department of Health in Lee County is seeking an Environmental Specialist I to conduct inspections across several programs, including public swimming pools, biomedical waste, and OSTDS, while ensuring compliance with relevant statutes and regulations. The role includes data entry into the Environmental Health Database and daily reporting duties.

The position requires field work, driving a county vehicle, and collaboration with the Environmental Health Division.

Competenze

Possess a valid driver's license and have a motor vehicle to perform duties.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to move freely around inspection sites in high heat and humid conditions or during inclement weather.
Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally & in writing.

Mansioni

Perform inspections across programs (public swimming pools, biomedical waste, OSTDS, migrant housing, tattoo and body piercing, tanning, and more) per state rules.
Enter permit, inspection, and enforcement data into the Environmental Health Database (EHD) as needed.
Enter Daily Activity Reports and submit time sheets within required timeframes.
Attend mandatory training and respond to DoH Emergency alerts within 60 minutes.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Environmental Health Division.
