Job summary

Nash County is seeking an Environmental Health Specialist to perform environmental health services related to on-site wastewater systems and wells. You will conduct site evaluations, inspections, permitting, water sampling, complaint investigations, and follow-up activities to ensure compliance with state regulations.

The role involves reviewing plans, evaluating soils, maintaining records, and advising homeowners, contractors, and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental health or related field.
• Registered Environmental Health Specialist status per NC requirements.
• Experience with inspections, plan reviews, and permitting.

Responsibilities
