Job summary

EKI Environment & Water, Inc is seeking a field-oriented Geologist/Environmental Scientist to support site characterization, remediation, and brownfield projects across Southern California. You will collect samples, document field activities, and help interpret data under supervision.

The role requires 1–3 years experience in environmental projects, a geology/environmental science degree (master's preferred), and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, or related field; master’s degree preferred
• 1–3 years of experience supporting environmental investigation, remediation, and construction projects
• Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certification preferred
• Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare fieldwork, coordinate equipment, meetings, supplies and subcontractors
• Collect soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air samples; perform site inspections
• Oversee drilling, geophysical work, waste disposal and subcontractors
• Document field activities through notes, boring logs, field forms and photo logs
• Prepare data interpretations to identify contaminant sources and exposure pathways
• Assist senior staff with work plans, reports and cost estimates for investigations and remediation
• Follow all health and safety protocols; work outdoors in demanding conditions
• Travel up to 50% within Southern California and occasionally other parts of California
