Tetra Tech, Inc. is hiring an Environmental Compliance Lead to support a solar facility under construction near Columbus, Montana.

The role acts as the project owner's third-party environmental compliance representative, ensuring adherence to permits and regulatory requirements throughout construction. This on-call, on-site position runs roughly 8 hours/day, 6 days/week during active construction (March 1–December 15) with a seasonal winter shutdown (Dec 15–Mar 1).

Qualifications

• Proficiency using GPS units and field data collection tools.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with construction teams, clients, and agency staff.
• Ability to work independently in remote field environments.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Verify compliance with applicable regulatory permits, approvals, and environmental requirements.
• Serve as the project owner's on-site environmental compliance representative and primary environmental point of contact.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly on-site monitoring and inspections to document compliance and track corrective actions.
• Audit contractor inspections and environmental compliance records.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, field documentation, and other project records.
