Job summary

The Environmental Compliance Inspector at Eocene Environmental Group is responsible for environmental inspection and monitoring during the construction of utility-scale electrical transmission projects and associated substations in Nevada. The role focuses on protecting sensitive resources and ensuring permits are followed.

This field-based position requires long hours, travel to project sites, and coordination with construction and regulatory personnel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental sciences or related field.
Ability to work long hours in extreme weather.
Proficient with GPS, maps, iPads and submeter accuracy devices.
Experience operating four-wheel drive vehicles on rough terrain.
Field experience on construction projects and around heavy equipment.
Strong writing skills and MS Office proficiency.
Able to relocate to the project location.
Read/write/speak English to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

Monitor compliance with National Pollutant Discharge System Permits.
Document and report impacts to sensitive resources.
Track progress of construction activities and mitigation measures.
Inspect construction vehicles and equipment for cleanliness.
Ensure best management practices are implemented.
Collaborate with construction/regulatory personnel to develop solutions and permit conditions.
Photo document ecological site conditions.
Prepare daily reports.
