Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an Environmental Compliance Coordinator to support Electric Transmission construction projects across Central and Northwest Virginia. This field role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and provides oversight of active construction activities.

Applicants should hold a Virginia DEQ ESC and SWM certification, a Bachelor's degree in a related environmental discipline, and at least one year of field experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related environmental discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on environmental field experience supporting construction projects.
• Virginia DEQ certifications: Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector (ESC) and Stormwater Management Inspector (SWM).
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to multiple project sites with mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental compliance inspections on active electric transmission construction projects.
• Monitor erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, permits, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform oversight inspections to ensure compliance with plans, permits, and environmental commitments.
• Evaluate sites for environmental issues and provide corrective action recommendations.
• Interpret environmental regulations and translate requirements into operational guidance for field personnel.
• Prepare inspection reports, compliance documentation, and regulatory submittals for stakeholders.
