Job summary

System One is seeking an Engineering Technician for a 100% travel contract role in Dallas, TX. The technician will support site preparation for contractor installation of communications racks and install critical power, grounding, cable trays, and related infrastructure per engineering packages.

Responsibilities include fiber optic cabling, telecom infrastructure, LTE antenna activities, testing and troubleshooting, and field documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in extreme weather conditions.
• Basic Microsoft Office, internet, and email skills.
• Experience with supporting fiber optics, telecom systems, RF communications, or complex electronic equipment (5+ years preferred).
• Experience with OTDR testing, telecom cabling, wireless systems, or communications infrastructure preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and field coordination abilities.
• Preferred: Military, trade school, technical school, or advanced electronics training; experience supporting radar, radio, telecommunications, networking, or navigational systems

Responsibilities

• Support site preparation for contractor installation of communications racks.
• Install power circuits, grounding systems, outlets, cable trays, conduits per engineering packages.
• Support fiber optic cabling, telecom infrastructure, monitors, voice recorder systems, and communications equipment.
• Assist in LTE antenna installation activities and establish cable pathways.
• Remove and replace electrical components, wire bundles, connectors, and related hardware.
• Test and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using schematics and blueprints.
• Troubleshoot, align, calibrate, and repair communications and audio equipment to component level.
• Support testing, verification, inspections, and commissioning to ensure systems are operational.
• Install sensors, radios, computers, cabling, and communications systems in field environments.
• Support redline updates and field documentation during construction and installation.
• Perform additional field installation and technical support duties as assigned.
