Job summary

Roche is seeking a Field Engineering Specialist to travel within the San Diego area, performing hands-on repair and installation of Roche products at customer sites. You will serve as the primary technical contact for service issues and ensure preventative maintenance.

The Position

The Opportunity

Roche Support Network is dedicated to providing exceptional support to customers.

• As a Field Engineering Specialist, you will travel and showcase your expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche assigned product lines
• You will offer valuable service to laboratory customers in your assigned territory
• The role involves routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products
• You will serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues and perform preventative maintenance
• The position requires diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures
• You will document all activities, contribute to quality improvement, and focus on maximizing customer satisfaction

Who You Are

• High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience are required
• 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking is necessary. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of progressive experience will suffice
• Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy is mandatory
• The ability to travel, including overnight travel, is a requirement for this role

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience are required
• Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry
• The ability to serve as an internal technical resource, provide support after hours and on weekends/holidays, and maintain strong customer relationships is essential

This is a field-based role. The territory is within the San Diego area. The ideal candidate must reside in the territory.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $71,000 and $132,000 of hiring range.

Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
