Job summary

TerraPower is seeking a Field Engineering Manager for the Natrium project at the Kemmerer, Wyoming site. You will manage construction support, lead a multidisciplinary field engineering team, and ensure work packages meet design basis, licensing commitments, and regulatory requirements.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate staffing, and interface with construction management, QA, licensing, procurement, and regulators to keep the project compliant and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of field engineering, construction engineering, or construction support on power generation, nuclear, or large industrial projects.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and isometrics.
• Familiarity with nuclear quality requirements (NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B).
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Primavera P6 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination and oversight of a diverse multidisciplinary Field Engineers. The team comprises TerraPower employees and subcontracted resources.
• Develop and recommend engineering staffing plans based on project input, current team analysis, schedule demands, and forecasts.
• Oversee field engineering activities in support of construction, testing, startup, and turnover to operations, ensuring conformance to design basis and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as onsite interface with construction management, licensing/regulatory affairs, QA, procurement, and regulators; resolve issues collaboratively.
• Manage priority conflicts and resource allocation across engineering tasks; escalate to senior leadership when needed.
• Mentor engineers, identify training opportunities, and align tasks with Natrium program scope.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and indoctrination for new onsite engineers; ensure alignment with nuclear quality programs and site safety protocols.
• Ensure all work outputs adhere to contract requirements and TerraPower standards, including ASME/IEEE and design control.
