Job summary

Webber, a Ferrovial company, is seeking a dynamic Intern to kickstart a career in construction and infrastructure. The 12-week program provides hands-on support across Safety, Survey/Estimating, Project Supervision and Field Engineering.

You will gain experience interpreting plans, computing quantities, and coordinating with field crews. Open to students in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or Construction Management programs; strong English and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or related 4-year degree program
  • Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
  • Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
  • Manual dexterity and ability to perform construction math concepts

Responsibilities

  • Gain understanding of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Hazard Safety Observations (HSO)
  • Know and apply necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for jobsite activities
  • Observe and prevent safety incidents
  • Conduct jobsite audits
  • Learn how to interpret plans and set layouts
  • Understand how to survey for quantities
  • Gain knowledge in conversions and accurate surveying practice
  • Assess man-hours time and materials needed for production
  • Communicate and delegate work plans to field crews
