Job summary

Ferrovial, via its Webber subsidiary, invites students to join a 12-week internship in heavy civil, waterworks, infrastructure management, and energy divisions within the United States. The program provides on-the-job support across safety, surveying, project supervision, and field engineering roles.

You will gain hands-on experience, learn to interpret plans, and support field crews while developing practical skills in construction math and surveying.

Responsibilities

• Gain understanding of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Hazard Safety Observations (HSO).
• Learn to apply required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for jobsite activities.
• Observe and prevent safety incidents on site.
• Conduct jobsite audits to ensure compliance.
• Learn to interpret plans and set layouts for field work.
• Understand how to survey quantities and perform survey measurements.
• Assess man-hours and materials needed for production.
• Communicate and delegate work plans to field crews.

Who You Are: A Profile of Success

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or related 4-year degree program

• Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications

• Moderate tohigh levelof computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook

• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers

• Full understanding of Construction Math concepts

• Ability to perform moderate tohigh levelof physical activity in field-based construction environment
