The City of Lee's Summit is seeking a Field Engineering Inspector to oversee the inspection of construction projects related to public and private infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards while working under the Engineering Inspections Manager. This role requires a valid driver's license and relevant certifications within a specified timeframe.

Qualifications

• 4 years related experience required with high school diploma.
• 2 years related experience required with Associate’s Degree.

Job description

The Field Engineering Inspector, under supervision of the Engineering Inspections Manager, performs technical construction inspection of work related to public and private infrastructure, in particular related to private development and right-of-way activities for compliance with Federal, State, and City codes and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED equivalent required, with 4 years’ related experience, or
2. Associate’s Degree in construction, architecture, engineering, or related field, with two years of related experience, or
3. Bachelor’s Degree in construction, architecture, engineering, or related field.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid State motor vehicle operator’s license and acceptable driving record required.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 certification within 24 months of employment.
• Missouri Department of Natural Resources Class D Water or Wastewater Treatment or Water Distribution (I, II, or III) certification within 24 months of employment.
