Position

As a Senior Field Engineer, you will conduct on-site evaluations of electrical equipment for compliance with regulatory safety standards (UL, NFPA, CSA, ANSI, etc.). You will perform construction and engineering reviews across various industries (manufacturing, laboratory, medical, commercial, retail, food service, etc.). This role involves 100% travel, both domestic and international, with most travel within the lower 48 states. You must possess or be able to obtain a passport.

Responsibilities

• Perform Field Evaluations under the Eurofins E&E North America/MET Labs Field Labeling program.
• Review scope of work and identify all necessary items prior to travel arrangements.
• Coordinate all travel arrangements.
• Communicate with clients, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), contractors, and other relevant parties.
• Identify applicability of national codes and standards.
• Review manuals, schematics, BOMs, site procedures, data sheets, and more.
• Document construction details and any non-conformances during inspections.
• Assess compliance with UL, NFPA, CSA, or ANSI standards.
• Determine equipment eligibility for labeling and prepare final reports.
• Submit expenses and documentation for billing.
• Meet or exceed billing goals while adhering to project deadlines.
• Develop relationships with clients and promote our services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• MUST have direct Field Engineering experience with a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) or Field Evaluation Body (FEB) using product safety standards.
• Experience as a Follow-Up Inspector is not relevant unless involving UL 508A training seminars.
• Familiarity with UL 508A, UL 61010-1, UL 73, NFPA 70, & NFPA 79.
• Experience with Hazardous Location and CSA standards is a plus.
• Strong technical writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in elevated or confined spaces and lift 30+ pounds.
• Solid electrical background and understanding of electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience working with diverse populations and communities.

Work Environment

• This position is fully remote. Candidate must be near a major airport.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000/year.
