Holder Construction is seeking a Field Engineer Technician to join our Operations team on our project in Manassas, VA. This is a full-time position with on-the-job training and opportunities to advance based on merit.

Responsibilities include assisting Field Engineers with robotic total station instruments, performing construction layout, maintaining equipment, and supporting field supervision. OSHA safety environment; overtime and weekend hours may be required; travel likely.

• Perform construction layout by setting stakes, marking lines, elevations, grades, and reference points.
• This position will include on the job training.
• Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools. Provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues and lead team to complete daily tasks at the jobsite.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials Layout equipment of all shapes and sizes weighing up to approximately 50lbs.
• Work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, and can see & hear well either naturally or with correction.
• Must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
