Job summary

Unisys in Hartford, CT is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to support desktop, laptop, and monitor maintenance and basic device services. You will perform low-complexity installs and changes, assist with network/server testing, and help ensure customer satisfaction and SLA compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and typically less than 1 year of experience. Some export-control authorization may be required.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining and repairing desktops, laptops and monitors and associated software and peripherals.
• Assisting with maintenance on products and devices.
• Performing low-complexity installs, moves, adds and changes on various equipment and devices.
• Assisting with network, server, device and application testing and certification.
• Ensures client satisfaction throughout service delivery transactions.
• Ensures SLAs are met and incident and request tickets are updated as required within the ticketing system.
• Follows specific procedures outlined and completes certification requirements.
• Assists with special projects as assigned.

What success looks like in this role:

• Gains familiarity with Field Engineering practices and procedures.
• With guidance or by following a pre-determined / documented process performs the following:
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing desktops, laptops and monitors and associated software and peripherals
  • Assisting with maintenance on products and devices
  • Performing low-complexity installs, moves, adds and changes on various equipment and devices
  • Assisting with network, server, device and application testing and certification
• Ensures client satisfaction throughout service delivery transactions.
• Ensures service level agreements (SLAs) are met and incident and request tickets are updated as required within the ticketing system.
• Follows specific procedures outlined and completes certification requirements.
• Assists with special projects as assigned.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Generally, less than 1 years’ experience in area of responsibility
