Job summary

Austin Commercial is seeking a Field Engineer for the Phoenix, AZ Division. The role supports the sr. field engineer in supervising all field engineering activities across the project, including surveying duties throughout all phases of work.

The position emphasizes safety, accuracy and coordination with field teams. Responsibilities include resolving discrepancies, establishing control lines, coordinating with surveyors and authorities, and assisting in daily field operations to keep projects

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field or, in lieu of degree, 4 years of commercial construction field engineering experience.
• Successful completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required (may obtain within first year of employment)
• High level of math proficiency

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents and identify discrepancies between site layouts and plans, request clarifications (RFI).
• Establish dimensional control lines and elevations with benchmarks and coordinate with owner/independent surveyor.
• Coordinate with field superintendents to support daily construction activities and monitoring alignment of forms and elevations.
• Maintain tools/equipment and provide on-the-job training in basic field engineering for subordinates.
• Assist superintendent in evaluating impacts on adjacent properties and suggest risk-reducing actions.
