Job summary

Tutor Perini Civil is seeking a Field Engineer - Structures/Steel for our Old Saybrook, CT project site. Reporting to the Director, Structural Steel, you will support daily field operations, review drawings, and coordinate with crews to ensure safe, on-time project delivery.

Applicants should have a Civil/Structural/Construction Management degree and five years’ experience with heavy field interface, strong communication, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Five years of engineer experience with heavy field interface.
• Ability to conduct meetings and present topics to a group.
• Ability to read and understand drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel).
• Knowledge of Procure, Blue Beam and HCSS is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily with project crews to confirm materials, equipment, and resources are available for planned construction activities.
• Coordinate and analyze shop drawings, design specs, material requirements, and project data.
• Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling.
• Identify risk elements that could impact budget or schedule.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to track performance.
• Notify team of significant schedule changes and suggest solutions.
