Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, NJ is seeking a Field Engineer to join the SQQ-89 program team at the VADM James H. Doyle, Jr. Combat System Engineering Development Site. The role requires collaboration with design professionals and hands-on system integration across naval platforms.

The candidate will perform under general supervision, install SQQ-89 software, support hardware maintenance, and participate in test events with a multi-disciplinary team. DoD security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related technical field.
• 3 years of relevant work experience OR 5+ years of hands-on System Integration experience on complex systems.
• Proficient with Linux operating system.
• Experience creating or revising technical system documentation.
• Must be eligible for a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform under general supervision to complete milestones associated with specific projects.
• Conduct Software initial installs of new SQQ-89 Software, and support integration through SOD.
• Ensure system issues are documented and tracked in the problem report system and provide SW maintenance as required.
• Manage incoming SQQ-89 Hardware system, inspect and track defective hardware through the LRU Maintenance and replacement process.
• Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team during SQQ-89 and Aegis Test events.

The Work

As a key member of our Field Engineering team, you will

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related technical field and 3 years of relevant work experience OR 5+years of directly related hands‑on System Integration experience on complex systems.
• Proficient with Linux operating system.
• Experience creating or revising technical system documentation.
• Must be able to utilize Microsoft Windows and Office products in support of day to day tasking.
• Qualified candidate must be eligible for a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience integrating and software installs.
• Shipboard Experience with SQQ-89 or Aegis programs and systems would be highly desireable.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $81500.00 - $151300.00
