The Work

The Acoustic Rapid COTS Insertion (A‑RCI) Submarine Sonar program is seeking a full‑time, highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to serve as Test Tools and Technology Lead. In this role, you will work directly with the LM Test Execution Lead throughout the project lifecycle to plan, execute, and report on verification activities. You will also work closely with the Systems Engineering team to maintain requirements, test cases, and our management tools—IBM EngineeringLifecycleManagement (ELM/DOORSNext) and Engineering Test Management (ETM). • Dashboard & Schedule Management
    • Build and maintain Jira and ETM dashboards that provide real‑time test scheduling, progress tracking, and status reporting.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze test data and generate concise reports that communicate current execution status and any emerging risks. Proactively identify improvements to the testing process to catch issues earlier in the pipeline.
  • Software‑Tool Liaison
    • Coordinate with the Manassas SDES team for all systems‑engineer software‑tool requests, licensing, and support (e.g., TestRail, TWC, ELM/ETM).
  • Baseline Test Plan (BTP) Oversight
    • Track execution of the BTP Performance Verification Test (PVT) scorecard, ensuring every program requirement is verified, documented, and traceable.
  • Metrics & Safety Support
    • Provide requirement‑status metrics and ship‑safety metrics for readiness reviews; monitor and manage red‑line reviews within the tools.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Engage Navy counterparts, ARCI teams, and external partners throughout the project lifecycle; work with the Navy on‑site team to secure test approvals and support.
  • Automation & Certification Enablement
    • Identify opportunities to develop system‑level verification procedures that leverage test‑automation to accelerate the certification hand‑off phase.
  • Future Architecture Planning
    • Contribute to the definition of new hardware architectures and associated tools that enable innovative test strategies.
