Job summary

Vaughn Construction is seeking a Field Engineer to supervise layout verification for multiple Texas projects, ensuring quality and adherence to plans, specifications, and shop drawings.

You will establish building control, verify elevations, operate total stations, and coordinate with project management and QA/QC to drive on-time delivery while upholding Vaughn’s safety standards and core values.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in construction, engineering or related field.
• Experience with self-performing work in excavation, concrete, and finish carpentry preferred.
• Ability to supervise multiple personnel and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction activities for quality and compliance with plans and shop drawings.
• Establish building control vertical and horizontal and verify elevations.
• Set up and operate robotic total station and data collection for layouts.
• Review plans and notes prior to performing duties and lead crew members.
• Coordinate with project management, QA/QC and safety personnel to meet schedules.
