Job summary

TrueNet Communications in Michigan is seeking a Field Engineer to gather field information for aerial, buried or underground OSP telecommunications work, supporting design of work orders for new cables, poles and cabinets.

You will travel to sites, take measurements and photos, use measuring tools, and report data to the design team. The role requires safety adherence and strong written/verbal communication; MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with and understanding of OSP construction techniques.
• Working knowledge of OSP infrastructure, easement, right-of-way and permit documents preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and timely.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take detailed measurements, notes and pictures of proposed network locations.
• Travel to required work sites.
• Obtain accurate field data using measuring tools.
• Follow customer measuring guidelines.
• Adhere to safety guidelines.
• Report data to design team or manager.
• Maintain company vehicle as directed.
• Attend onsite meetings with TrueNet and customers.
• Attend training sessions to maintain skills.
• Other duties as assigned.
