Job summary

Knoxville Utilities Board is seeking an Engineering Associate to oversee on-site natural gas construction projects, ensuring safety, accuracy, and adherence to standards. You will monitor progress, coordinate work, and make real-time decisions with crews and contractors.

You will gain expertise in natural gas assets, KUB standards, and mapping tools, using GPS and field software to support quality construction and reliable operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of demonstrated experience in related field.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Ability to work as part of a team to achieve departmental goals.
• Ability to learn GIS, Excel, SharePoint, Word and project management software.
• Have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field construction activities to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
• Monitor progress and coordinate on-site work with engineers and contractors.
• Record assets and progress updates using GPS and field tools.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to resolve issues.
