Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Field Engineer in Washington, DC to lead field operations, ensuring construction work complies with engineering standards, codes and contract specifications. You will collaborate with project crews, review drawings and plans, and manage resources to keep production on schedule and within budget.

The role requires a related Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of construction experience, with beginner knowledge of equipment, drawings, materials, and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• 1+ year experience preferred.
• Construction engineering experience or knowledge required.
• Beginner knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, building materials and standards.

Responsibilities

• Meets daily with project crews to review production schedule and confirm resources are available.
• Collects, coordinates and analyzes shop drawings, design specifications and project data to ensure quality and compliance.
• Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling; identifies risk elements that could impact budget or schedule.
• Evaluates daily production, schedule and budget projections and documents activities.
• Remits accurate project quantity input and controls using project cost coding with finance teams.
