Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. is offering a Field Engineer Internship for Summer 2027 in the California Buildings district. The role is based in Glendale among other California locations and supports real projects with mentorship.

The program provides hands-on experience, safety and quality auditing, and opportunities to learn from project teams, with potential to transition to full-time roles in the future.

Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing a construction-related degree.
• Willing to relocate to project locations in Southern California.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• 18+ years old with a valid Driver’s License.
• Able to navigate construction sites and work around heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assists Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
• Conducts safety audits and quality audits.
• Reads and understands drawings and specifications.
• Logs submittals, processes RFIs, and prepares reports.
• Assists with surveying and project layout.
• Maintains field drawings and records.

Join us as aField Engineer Internship- Summer 2027for our California Buildingsdistrict, within our US Buildings sectorfor 4 or 8 months starting summer 2027. Depending on your assigned project as a Field Engineer Internship- Summer 2027, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Assists Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents
• Conducts safety audits and quality audits
• Reads and understand drawings and specifications
• Logs submittals, process RFI’s and prepare reports
• Assists with surveying and project layout
• Maintains and update field drawings, field equipment and records
• Assists with coordinating subcontractors, vendors and field staff
• Coordinates material deliveries and documentation
• Attends relevant project meetings
• Prepares memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other forms and documents
• Assists with project documentation requirements
• Assists with estimating and soliciting subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the construction industry such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, etc.
• A desire to pursue a career as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or Estimator
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver’s License
• Willing to work and live in the Southern California area
• Willing to temporarily relocate to project locations
• Must be able to navigate through a construction site on a daily basis, climb ladders and stairs
• Must be able to work around and near heavy equipment, cranes, and other construction equipment
• Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party
