Job summary

Kiewit is offering an internship in the Eastern District's Field Operations group for Summer 2027. This hands-on program focuses on construction management activities across heavy civil projects in transportation, energy, and water sectors.

You will work with experienced engineers, gain exposure to field engineering, scheduling, cost control, and procurement, and have opportunities for travel and relocation as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil, electrical, construction management, or related field.
• Willingness to travel or relocate as needed.
• Available to work full-time during summer (May–August).
• Demonstrated strong work ethic, ethics and integrity.
• Ability to access construction sites and work in varied environments.
• Proven teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist field engineers with planning, scheduling, and cost control activities.
• Support quantity tracking, material procurement, and subcontract administration.
• Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements.
• Assist with project documentation, progress tracking, and reporting.
• Coordinate with suppliers to expedite material delivery.
• Support safety programs and ensure work complies with site rules.
