Job summary

Kiewit Building Group in the United States is offering an internship in Field Operations focused on hands-on construction management learning. You will participate in how projects are planned, scheduled, estimated, and executed on real sites with a safety-forward culture and substantial travel opportunities.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in CM or engineering, with strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to read plans and specs.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree.
• Broad knowledge of project scheduling and cost control and ability to read drawings/specifications.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with scheduling/cost tools is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; good written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel/relocate and comply with safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, civil, electrical and heavy industrial construction.
• Support administrative and construction activities; review proposals, specs and drawings; perform material takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Learn to supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors.
• Prepare work plans, ensure quality control, manage costs and materials, schedule equipment and maintain safety programs.
• Maintain records on job progress, costs and material usage; plan and schedule job segments.
• Investigate issues and propose solutions; review plans to determine material requirements and pricing.
• Coordinate with suppliers to facilitate material delivery.
