Job summary

Kiewit invites motivated students to join the Northwest District internship program in Alaska, offering hands-on experience in construction management. You will participate in field engineering, planning, cost control, and scheduling while learning from experienced professionals in a dynamic environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing civil engineering or construction management degrees, ready to travel, and able to work full-time during the summer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Willing to travel or relocate as needed.
• Ability to work full-time during the summer (June–August).
• Strong work ethic, ethics and integrity.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, and supervision of field activities.
• Perform engineering tasks with standard techniques and handle minor technical problems on site.
• Maintain records of job progress, costs, material usage, and related data.
• Plan and schedule job segments to meet deadlines.
• Investigate issues and propose practical solutions.
• Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements and pricing.
