Job summary

Ames Construction in Charlotte, NC is seeking a motivated construction professional to join our team on critical infrastructure projects. You will support field crews, manage relationships with owners, design partners, and subcontractors, and help ensure safety and quality from planning through execution.

The role emphasizes drafting and reviewing submittals, overseeing layout, and assisting with budget, procurement, and change procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Pursuing degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Desire to grow, develop career, and mentor coworkers.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Instill Safety as a top priority.
• Manage and support a team of construction coworkers.
• Build relationships and communicate with coworkers, owners, design partners, subcontractors.
• Review and draft technical submittals such as schedule, shop drawings, work plans, etc.
• Monitor quality control, safety and environmental programs.
• Understand and assist with project layout.
• Identify critical work items, and procure long-lead items.
• Assist with contract administration including budget and change procedures.
• Assist with material procurement including logistics.
• Work together to resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce.
• Maintaining as-built drawings & manuals.
