Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a team-oriented professional to join our field operations. You will lead safety initiatives, manage a crew, and coordinate with owners, design partners, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep projects on schedule.

Responsibilities include reviewing submittals, monitoring quality and safety programs, assisting with layout, procurement, and budget processes to resolve field issues and ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to spot discrepancies.
  • Pursuing a degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Desire to grow, develop career, and mentor coworkers.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

  • Instill safety as a top priority.
  • Manage and support a team of construction coworkers.
  • Build relationships and communicate with coworkers, owners, design partners, subcontractors.
  • Review and draft technical submittals such as schedule, shop drawings, work plans.
  • Monitor quality control, safety and environmental programs.
  • Understand and assist with project layout.
  • Identify critical work items and procure long-lead items.
  • Assist with contract administration including budget and change procedures.
  • Assist with material procurement including logistics.
  • Resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce.
  • Maintain as-built drawings and manuals.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
