Job summary

Insight Xcite in Fairfax, VA is seeking a hands-on Field Engineer / Installer to deploy, test, repair, and maintain network and communications equipment on customer sites. The role includes frequent travel, both domestically and internationally, to support deployments and field-service activities.

You will install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, servers, cabling, and power systems, document results, and coordinate with customers and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing or maintaining network, communications, or IT infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of routers, switches, structured cabling, rack equipment, power systems, and test tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate with customers.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite and travel domestically or internationally as mission needs require.

Insight Xcite is seeking a hands-on Field Engineer / Installer in Fairfax, Virginia, to support deployment, testing, repair, and maintenance of network and communications equipment. The role may require substantial domestic or international travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and maintain routers, switches, servers, cabling, power systems, and related equipment.
• Perform site surveys and prepare installation plans, equipment lists, and readiness assessments.
• Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, power, and performance issues in field environments.
• Document configurations, test results, repairs, inventories, and site acceptance activities.
• Coordinate with customers and engineering teams and travel as required to support deployments.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting secure government or mission environments.
• Experience with Cisco platforms, fiber optics, wireless systems, servers, or tactical communications.
• Relevant networking, electronics, cabling, or field-service certifications.

Applicants must currently possess an active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (FSP) to be considered for employment.

Work Location Requirement
