Job summary

PEG, LLC is seeking motivated individuals to learn Energy Sustainability and building energy performance for new residential construction. The role requires becoming a certified HERS Rater and performing Home Energy Audits in accordance with RESNET guidelines.

New employees receive paid on-the-job training and will inspect materials, collect data, and test energy performance using specialized equipment. Daily travel within the Hackettstown, NJ region is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications such as HERS Rater, Energy Star, LEED, ACCA 310 HVAC Grading, IECC, HVAC EPA, BPI are a plus.
• Experience in HVAC, home remodeling or construction is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform Home Energy Audits following RESNET/Energy Star Guidelines.
• Conduct visual inspections of materials, controls, and installation quality.
• Collect data and observe energy features; document findings.
• Operate equipment for testing energy performance (infiltration, blower door, ventilation, duct leakage, air flow).
• Adjust system settings to meet design or manufacturer specs.
• Develop professional relationships with builders and code officials.
• Prepare electronic written audit reports and complete internal paperwork.
• Maintain and transport equipment per company policy; travel to job sites within the assigned area.

Education

High School Diploma or GED or Vocational Certificate

2 years HVAC/home remodeling/construction experience

Desire to learn Energy Sustainability & RESNET/HERS processes
