Job summary

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC (MD&A) is seeking a Field Engineer in Training (EIT) based in Latham, NY, with extensive travel across the US. You'll work with experienced mentors to learn inspection, alignment, and troubleshooting for GE and Westinghouse turbine-generator units.

During two years of training, you will perform billable assignments commensurate with your skills, with opportunities to advance after completing the program.

Qualifications

• Willing to pass drug screen and background review.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC, a world class supplier of power generation repairs, services and parts has an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has a desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work.

MD&A Field Engineers are a key part of a service team that provide a wide variety of services to power generation and industrial customers. These services include:

• Inspection of turbine / generator components
• Technical Direction
• Review of turbine inspection data
• Troubleshooting
• Rotor and Steam path alignment
• Outage Schedule tracking / manpower tracking
• Labor supervision
• Outage Planning
• Customer in Training

Spend approximately two years working as an "Engineer in Training". In this position you will work with Senior Field Engineering mentors to learn the skills and common maintenance practices required to perform inspections on both GE and Westinghouse steam turbine - generator units. Upon completion of the training, and when appropriate during the training, employee will work on billable assignments according to their skills and abilities.

Other activities may include:

• Assisting start-up engineers with system check outs after outages, monitoring turbine operation
• Assisting with turbine laser alignment
• Vibration analysis and balancing turbine generators

Travel

This job requires extensive travel within the US, and on occasion outside the US for short periods. This is a full-time position.

Location: Position is based in Latham, NY but relocation is not required.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of power generation equipment and related support systems.
• Person must be able to work in an industrial environment.
• Successful candidate will be required to pass drug screen and background review

Preferences

• Prior experience working on power generation equipment, automobiles and related systems, industrial equipment, or shipboard work experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
