Job summary

R.T. Moore in Indiana is seeking a Field Engineer to serve as the entry-level liaison between office and field operations, providing technical expertise, material management, and design execution aligned with the budget and customer expectations.

You will coordinate mechanical and structural systems, review field issues, participate in BIM meetings, prepare weekly reports, and uphold safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field is required or 5+ years of construction experience.
• Strong MEP aptitude and leadership abilities.
• Basic BIM knowledge and familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all mechanical and structural systems for each project to ensure proper scheduling between vendors.
• Review, analyze, and resolve field construction issues with A/E, owner and/or contractor.
• Participate in BIM meetings and develop design adjustments using appropriate software.
• Create and submit weekly project reports including budget oversight.
• Communicate progress and project status with leadership.
• Drive for on-site safety with the project team.
• Establish exterior-interior points and help evaluate dimensions.
• Establish control points and lay out under-slab locations.
• Create isometrics and detail views for installation.
• Perform heat gain/loss calculations to size equipment.
• Develop plumbing design for DWV, water, PRV, and gas piping.
• Translate As-Built drawings to field installation and support project.
• Review subs and resolve conflicts affecting installation and schedule.
• Manage submittals and communicate changes to align with specs.
• Coordinate change orders and material expediting as needed.
• Prepare equipment schedules for builder/architect/engineer.
• Navigate conflicts and delays due to site conditions.
