Job summary

Pavion is seeking an AV Commissioning Engineer/Technician to join our security business unit in New England. You will program, configure, commission, and maintain mission-critical AV systems and integrate hardware across control panels and related components.

The role requires 2–4 years in the AV industry, Crestron knowledge, and the ability to travel regionally (RI, MA, NH, ME). OSHA 10, a valid driver’s license, and on-call availability are expected; we offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years in Audio-Visual industry
• 2-4 years in installation, support, programming, maintaining, and servicing low voltage AV systems
• OSHA 10 certification
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to travel throughout New England (RI, MA, NH, ME)
• Experience with basic networking design and VLANs/configurations

Responsibilities

• Program/configure, commission, and maintain small to medium Mission Critical AV systems and projects
• Configure basic system integrations between AV and related components
• Terminate cables on racks, control panels and components
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system problems at the software layer
• Train end users on AV products and solutions
• Document project state for closeout and coordinate resolutions with PMO
• Support PMO, Engineering and Sales teams on implementations and new opportunities
• Mentor other AV-focused team members
• Create and implement installation best practices for AV technologies

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated AV Commissioning Engineer / Technician to join our security business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Program/ configure, commission, and maintain small to medium sized Mission Critical Audio-Visual related systems and/or projects
• Program/ configure basic system integrations between related Audio-Visual systems and other related system components
• Terminate associated cables and wires on related rack components, control panels and other system components
• Accurately and efficiently diagnose and trouble shoot system problems at the software layer
• Provide creative solutions to technical challenges; Demonstrate skills required to manage and troubleshoot computer hardware and peripheral devices
• Apply SME in Audio-Visual technologies to effectively train end users on the products and solutions we provide
• Work through technical implementations to ensure that the integrated system is delivered according to project specifications
• Clearly document project state for closeout via punch list management; communicate issues to PMO and document/ coordinate resolution
• Provide support to PMO, Engineering and Sales teams to support project implementation and new sales opportunities
• Effectively mentor and teach other Mission Critical/ Audio-Visual focused team members
• Create and help implement installation best practices specific to Mission Critical/ Audio-Visual technologies, and the products and solutions we provide

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2-4 years in Audio-Visual industry with a deep understanding of the technologies used including Crestron
• 2-4 years in the installation, support, programming, maintaining, and servicing of low voltage systems, primarily Audio-Visual
• OSHA 10 required
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Basic level knowledge and experience with DSP modifications for audio system tuning in a variety of settings
• Basic level knowledge and experience with control system troubleshooting and debugging of multiple languages
• Experience with basic networking design and set up configurations including VLANs, subnetting, dynamic DNS, etc.
• Must be able to travel throughout New England as required (RI, MA, NH, ME)
• Must have a reliable form of transportation if a company vehicle is not provided
• Must be able to work off hours if/when projects require it (second and third shift)
• Must be able to participate in the Service Department on-call rotation, as required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with the following systems/ products preferred: Crestron, QSC, Shure, Biamp, Barco
• Industry specific certifications preferred- AVIXA CTS, Crestron CTI, QSC Q-Sys, Extron, SynAudCon

RI TST License(s) preferred

The hourly pay range for this position is$38.00 - 42.00 hourly. The starting hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
