Job summary

Pavion is seeking a Systems Technician to join our security business unit. The role involves installing low voltage systems, performing troubleshooting, and delivering documentation from commissioned projects in occupied environments.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years' experience with CCTV/Access Control/Intrusion and MA licenses where applicable, with OSHA 10 and willingness to travel across New England. Pavion values safety, reliability, and quality service.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 4–6 years’ experience installing low voltage/Data Communication systems including Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), AV, and Wireless.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • MA State A-License or MA State B-License.
  • Willingness to travel throughout New England (RI/MA/NH/ME).

Responsibilities

  • Perform low voltage cable installation, cable management, cable terminations, device installation, and other assigned project duties.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems and/or equipment as necessary.
  • Produce accurate documentation for the project including: commissioning reports, test reports, as-builts, and certifications.
  • Provide daily project status updates to the Project Management team.
  • Summarize and report non-compliant attributes of a project, site, or system.
  • Lead/manage medium to large sized Mission Critical projects.
  • Read and interpret project scopes, floor plans, submittals, specifications, and test reports.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in customer service with active listening and empathy in various interactions.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
OSHA 10
MA State A-License (Master Electrician) or MA State B-License (Journeyman)
MA State D-License (Preferred for MA Security work)

Firestop Certification (Hilti/3M)

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Systems Technician to join our security business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform low voltage cable installation, cable management, cable terminations, device installation, and other assigned project duties as required
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems and/ or equipment as necessary
  • Produce accurate documentation for the project as required including: system commissioning reports, Test Reports, As builts, system certification, etc.
  • Provide daily project status updates, as required, and communication to the Project Management team
  • Summarize, report and present non-compliant attributes of a project, site, or system
  • Think clearly and logistically to make accurate decisions based on personal and professional judgement and verifiable criteria
  • Ability to independently lead/ manage medium to large sized Mission Critical projects
  • Ability to read and interpret project scopes, one lines, floor plans, submittals, specifications, test reports and other related project documentation
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills, especially working in occupied and sensitive environments
  • Proficient in cabling best practices- running, supporting, and terminating category rated and multiconductor cabling
  • Experience/ certified with Fire Stopping; must be able to fire-stop any penetrations made or found
  • General understanding of computers and basic Microsoft Windows Applications
  • General understanding of networking concepts (wired and wireless)
  • Demonstrate general skills required to configure and troubleshoot device connectivity (LAN and Internet access)
  • Proficient with low voltage crimp tools, testing tools (meters, toners, etc.) and the use of other construction related tools
  • Ability to demonstrate persistence, tactfulness, and responsibility; maintain silence regarding confidential information; make decisions based on personal judgement and verifiable criteria; deal effectively with people in actual job duties beyond giving and receiving instruction
  • Demonstrate proficient skills to provide competent customer service using active listening and empathy during various interactions (i.e., in-person, phone, email, and chat)
  • Must be self-motivated and work well with others in a team environment
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience with the installation and commissioning of low voltage/ Data Communication systems including Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), Audio/Visual, and Wireless Communication
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience related to all job duties of this position
  • OSHA 10
  • MA State A-License (Master Electrician) or MA State B-License (Journeyman)
  • Reliable transportation, valid drivers' license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to travel throughout New England as required (RI, MA, NH, ME)
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation if a company vehicle is not provided
  • Must be able to work off hours if/when projects require it (second, third shift and weekends)
  • Must be able to participate in the Service Department on-call rotation as required by SIGNET
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MA State D-License (Required for MA Security work)
  • Experience with integrated security control systems (lock control) within Detention Facilities, Prisons, and Courts and other sensitive environments
  • Industry/ manufacturer certifications
  • RI State TST Data Licensing
  • RI State Master or Journeyman License
  • Firestop Certified (Hilti or 3M)
  • Boom and scissor Lift Certified

Base starting in the mid $30's/hour+ commensurate with experience.
