Job summary

Shimmick is seeking a talented Field Engineer to be based in the greater Los Angeles area. In this role, you will initially support the North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project, a 19-mile transit corridor connecting North Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Eagle Rock, and Pasadena.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Heavy civil transportation infrastructure project experience (roadway, earthworks, bridges).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques to meet specifications.
• Independently perform walk-downs and inspections for conformance with designs.
• Prepare daily field reports, photos, and work logs for project tracking and billing.
• Coordinate with survey teams for layout, elevations, and as-built data collection.
• Assist with interpreting drawings, specifications, and work plans for field crews.
• Monitor safety compliance and quality expectations on site.
