Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related field).
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and actively pursuing a PE license.
• Strong understanding of construction safety standards.
• UDOT CEMT certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire with company support.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
• Willingness and ability to travel locally to job sites and work remotely as needed, including occasional overnight stays.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and PDF software.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction oversight on UDOT transportation projects.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with plans, specs and safety standards.
• Review RFIs, change orders, pay estimates, and project documentation.
• Participate in field inspections, data collection, and construction verification.
• Support quality assurance and materials documentation.
• Maintain project records and prepare reports and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and UDOT representatives.
• Uphold Civil Science Quality and Risk Management Standards.
• Ensure compliance with company, client, and governmental safety requirements.
