Job summary

Civil Science in Utah is seeking a Field Engineer to support UDOT transportation projects in Regions 3 & 4. Entry-level engineers or recent graduates are encouraged to apply, with hands-on field experience on active highway projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and actively working towards a PE license.
• Strong understanding of construction safety standards.
• UDOT CEMT certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire with company support.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction oversight on UDOT transportation projects.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and safety standards.
• Review RFIs, change orders, pay estimates, and project documentation.
• Participate in field inspections, data collection, and construction verification.
• Support quality assurance and materials documentation.
• Maintain project records and prepare reports and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and UDOT representatives.
• Uphold Civil Science Quality and Risk Management Standards.
• Ensure compliance with company, client, and governmental safety requirements.
