Job summary

Lumbra seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to implement and deploy Nebula in classified environments. You will work embedded with customer teams, building connectors, integrating data sources, and operating the platform on-site in the National Capital Region.

You will collaborate with analysts, operators, and other engineers to translate needs into production solutions, delivering training and direct user support while shaping the product roadmap through on-site feedback.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years of professional software engineering experience; strong Python.
• Experience building and operating reliable integrations, including authentication, rate limiting, and error recovery.
• Working fluency in Kubernetes and containerized deployment.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with non-technical users.
• Willingness to work on client site 80–100% of the time in the National Capital Region, plus periodic CONUS/OCONUS travel.
• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy software in classified customer environments; you build it and you deploy it.
• Create integrations against customer data sources, including tool development and authentication.
• Operate platform workflows to ensure reliability and performance.
• Demonstrate the platform, deliver training, and act on user feedback directly.
• Troubleshoot in air-gapped environments where external tools aren’t available.
• Ensure test coverage for error cases and network/disconnected conditions.
• Provide weekly feedback to core engineering to shape the roadmap.
