Job summary

C.D. Smith Construction, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer to provide on-site support to the Superintendent and Project Manager. The role bridges field and office functions, handling project documentation, QC, trade coordination, and scheduling while serving as a point of contact for subcontractors and Owner representatives.

You will gain hands-on exposure to BIM coordination, RFIs, submittals, daily logs, and field safety tasks, contributing to on-time project delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting field operations on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and RFI/submittal data.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for field-to-office coordination.

Responsibilities

• Update field drawing sets with RFIs and bulletins.
• Draft, manage, and distribute RFIs to design team.
• Review subcontractor submittals against drawings and track actions.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and resolve clashes.
• Prepare meeting minutes and track items to closure.
• Maintain daily logs and field timesheets; monitor progress photos.
