Job summary

Kent Companies is seeking a Field Engineer for commercial concrete construction in Houston, TX. This role leads layout activities, coordinates startup, monitors site control, and collects as-built data to ensure project accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities include daily layout, equipment maintenance, safety participation, and timely delivery of as-built information. Requires strong communication, organization, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with seven years related experience and four years in a management position.
• Knowledge of all phases of concrete and building construction.
• Exceptional strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate, resolve conflict, and deal effectively with all stakeholders.
• Motivated, trustworthy, solutions-oriented team player with desire to consistently improve.
• Strong organization skills to manage and prioritize multiple urgent initiatives.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to workplace(s).
• Ability to pass background check related to driving and drug screening.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Project Startup: create a new project in the data collector, import FE manager data, verify site control, coordinate with project team, ensure layout materials, start layout.
• Project Maintenance: continue daily layout needs, anticipate work, coordinate scheduling, capture as-built information, provide data to FE manager.
• Ancillary Tasks: maintain and clean equipment, request supplies, participate in safety program, QA/QC to minimize rework.
• As-built Standards: document placement of walls, columns, slabs, anchor bolts with precise measurements and bolt projections, deliver data by the 20th of each month.
