Job summary

Harper GC is seeking a Field Engineer to lead a construction crew and oversee Trade Partners on assigned projects. You will ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence while coordinating with project stakeholders on field issues.

Responsibilities include planning work, tracking labor hours, conducting site safety activities, and maintaining QA/QC standards in accordance with Harper’s procedures and BIM tools.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree in related field with jobsite experience as an intern during school with an established GC.
  • OSHA 30 certified (preferred).
  • Proven track record of a strong safety culture on the jobsite–is a leader in safety.
  • Have some experience building from the ground up on more than 1 project.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Plans and Specs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise field crews and trade partners to meet project goals.
  • Oversee project decisions and assist in critical issues at the site.
  • Coordinate with Owner, Architect/Engineer on field issues and RFI handling.
  • Develop and implement QA/QC processes and site safety programs.
  • Manage timesheets, daily reports, and site logistics to maintain schedule.

Ensure crew always operates within Harper’s safety and quality standards. Work Environment

This role may require walking over varied terrain, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting. Lifting requirements vary from minimal loads to heavy; but help is always available with heavier loads.

Physical Demands

The Field Engineer is required to work in a variety of conditions relative to construction jobsite environments and must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, as assigned. Weather and climate conditions will vary throughout the progress of a project and the Field Engineer must be able to inspect all ongoing construction activities over the duration of the assigned project. Inspection for quality, consistency and completeness of work frequently requires climbing ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.

Travel Required

TravelrequirementsarebasedonProjectAssignment.Whenassignedtoa project outside of your Primary Work Area or Geographical Work Area you will follow the guidelines in our “Travel Policy.”There may be a business need for overnight stays when working on a project some distance from your assigned office or your home.

Education and Experience
