Job summary

Meyer Contracting Inc. in Maple Grove, MN seeks a Field Engineer to join our highway/heavy construction team. You will support project engineering, plan, execute, and monitor work while coordinating with on-site crews.

The ideal candidate holds a Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree, is proficient in MS Office, willing to travel and work extended hours, and can use Agtek for takeoffs; HeavyJob experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field from an accredited school.
• Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Must be willing to travel and spend time in the field.
• Must be willing to work extended hours if needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements.
• Provide technical support for construction, including participation in planning, execution, quality control, and completion of the work.
• Interface with on-site construction crews, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to the project schedule while tracking productivity goals.
• Perform bid takeoffs and use Agtek for modeling and dirt takeoffs.
• Monitor and report construction work progress, quantities, and daily labor; identify variances from the Project Plan.
• Monitor contractor safety performance.
• Ensure subcontractor activities align with the Purchase Order/Contract.
• Deliver bid packages.
• Other duties as assigned.
