Job summary

Column in San Francisco is hiring our first Forward Deployed Engineer to work on-site with customers, understanding their problems, and helping them build new products on Column's APIs. You’ll code, debug payment flows, and design integrations while spending significant time with customers across the US and abroad.

You’ll be the technical owner from onboarding to launch, advising on architecture and edge cases in money movement, and collaborating with our engineering team to improve our platform

Qualifications

• Strong engineering fundamentals and backend systems experience.
• Experience with APIs and payment/infrastructure domains.
• Excellent communication with executives and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with partner engineers to design, build and launch products on Column's banking stack.
• Serve as technical owner for strategic customers from onboarding to launch, addressing architecture and money movement edge cases.
• Write production-quality code to accelerate integrations and create reusable components.
• Translate field patterns into product and platform improvements, shaping APIs, docs, and developer experience.
• Advise customers on building safe, compliant financial products in regulated environments.
• Represent Column in executive-level customer conversations and build long-term relationships.
