Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Field Engineer AV for a direct hire opportunity. You will install, commission, and train users on advanced Audio-Visual systems for enterprise environments, solving complex issues and delivering projects from initial setup to customer acceptance.

The role requires hands-on configuration of AMX, Biamp, Cisco, Crestron, Polycom and related devices; DSP work, networked AV, and strong communication with customers and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 3–6 years of professional Audio-Visual field engineering experience.
  • Experience configuring advanced Audio-Visual systems in enterprise environments.
  • Strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex AV issues in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Write and modify DSP files and coordinate DSP control with control system programmers.
  • Configure advanced Audio-Visual systems including AMX, Biamp, Cisco, Crestron, Polycom, matrix mixers, switchers, and codecs.
  • Configure IP-addressable devices such as routers, switches, servers, and related networked AV components.
  • Drive project deliverables from installation through commissioning, final inspection, troubleshooting, and system acceptance.
  • Load, test, troubleshoot, and validate control code to ensure reliable system performance.
  • Train customers on system functionality, operation and best practices for day-to-day use.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Field Engineer AV for a direct hire opportunity in Dallas, TX with an established technology systems integrator serving enterprise clients across complex Audio-Visual, communications, lighting, and security environments. This role is ideal for a highly technical AV professional who can work independently, solve complex system issues, and deliver advanced Audio-Visual projects from installation through commissioning and customer training.

The Field Engineer AV will support sophisticated AV systems for professional, high-profile client environments where reliability, performance, and user experience are critical. Key Responsibilities
  • Write and modify DSP files and coordinate DSP control with control system programmers.
  • Configure advanced Audio-Visual systems including AMX, Biamp, Cisco, Crestron, Polycom, matrix mixers, switchers, and codecs.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Direct hire opportunity.
  • Compensation range: $40 to $43 per hour, based on experience.

  • Travel is required to customer locations, fabrication facilities, and manufacturer locations for advanced technical training.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Program, configure, test and commission advanced Audio-Visual systems in enterprise client environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex AV system issues from installation through final inspection.
  • Coordinate DSP, control systems, networked AV devices, and customer training.
  • Interface independently with customers, system engineers, design consultants and project teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 3 to 6 years of professional Audio-Visual field engineering experience.
  • 6 to 10 years of overall relevant experience preferred based on role level.
  • Deep technical knowledge of advanced Audio-Visual system functionality and DSP architecture.
  • Experience configuring systems and platforms such as AMX, Biamp, Cisco, Crestron, Polycom, matrix mixers, switchers, codecs, routers, switches and servers.
  • Ability to load, test, troubleshoot and validate control code.
  • CTS certification or higher through ICIA or AVIXA.
  • Technical certifications from major equipment manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, ClearOne, AMX or similar platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional customer service ability.
  • Self-motivated, organized, personable and able to make timely independent decisions in the field.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and advanced software tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse technical teams, customers, consultants and industry professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large or complex enterprise AV environments.
  • Advanced manufacturer certifications in Crestron, Extron, Biamp, AMX, Cisco, Polycom, ClearOne or similar AV technologies.
  • Experience working with financial services, legal, technology, life sciences or other professional services client environments.
  • Strong background in networked AV, DSP programming, control systems and commissioning best practices.
