Tutor Perini Civil - East seeks a Field Engineer - Structures/Steel for our project site in Old Saybrook, CT. The engineer will verify materials, supervise field operations, and ensure schedule adherence, cost control, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or Equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience as an Engineer.
  • Heavy field interface experience.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel).
  • Demonstrated aptitude to understand engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet daily with project crews to confirm materials, equipment, and resources for planned activities.
  • Collects, coordinates, and analyzes shop drawings, design specs, and project data.
  • Provide technical input for work plans and scheduling.
  • Identify risks that could affect budget or schedule and propose solutions.
  • Manage cost coding for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Review project specs for quality assurance at all project stages.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedules, and crews.
