Job summary

Crowder Construction Co seeks a Field Engineer to support site surveying and treatment-plant layout, providing technical data to the site superintendent to ensure drawings and specs are followed.

You will establish exterior-interior grade lines, evaluate field problems with the Project Engineer, and coordinate with the superintendent, foreman, and subcontractors to keep layouts accurate and on schedule. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related education or equivalent experience preferred.
• North Carolina Professional Land-Surveyor Certification, required.
• Some travel required.
• Proficient in total station and applicable software.
• Experience with figuring quantities such as concrete, rock, and dirt.
• Experience with As-Built built drawings.
• Experience with Carlson Software.
• Figuring coordinates.
• Experience with using level/and or laser for shooting grades.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment calibration.
• Adhere to schedule given by Superintendent and Foreman.
• Keep all drawings and RFIs updated (office and field sets).
• Work closely with Superintendent and Foreman to coordinate job layout.
• Must work with and train rodmen.
• Assist subcontractors with layout drawings.

• Adhere to safety policies and identify violations.

Responsible for site surveying and treatment plant site layout. Provides technical information to the site superintendent to ensure compliance with all drawings and specifications. Establish exterior-interior grade and working lines for contractors or crafts. Assist in the evaluation of potential dimensions and other field problems, referring them to the Project Engineer.
